helping students pursue their dreams
Launched in collaboration with CII in 2021, the Anthony Marino Scholarship fund was established to honor Anthony Marino, who passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021.
Anthony Marino was larger than life! He leaves behind a legacy of being warm, kind-hearted and giving, among many other attributes. To honor his generous spirit, The Marino Group has developed the Anthony Marino scholarship fund in conjunction with CII to help deserving students pursue their dreams. Anthony’s generosity, and that of the Marino Family, is reflected in the CII/Anthony Marino Scholarship fund, which will honor Anthony’s memory as he continues to leave his mark by helping to keep the best and brightest with these scholarships.
Considered a Gentle Giant, Anthony left a warm, indelible mark on everyone he met, both personally and professionally. In addition to being a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle, he was a great friend to this industry--a humble man with a big heart and a generous spirit, who greeted colleagues, customers and sometimes even competitors with a genuine smile and a friendly handshake, which quickly turned into a bear hug.
A long-time supporter of CII, Anthony was the Executive Vice President at Marine Repair Services and Container Maintenance Corporation, which was founded by his parents Vincent and Elaine in 1971. The Marino Group was known for its tireless work ethic, commitment to quality and unmatched generosity. Anthony and his brother Vincent grew the family business by always respecting their parents’ legacy while consistently looking to the future, including developing and investing in tomorrow’s workforce.
Anthony’s generosity, and that of the Marino Family, is reflected in the CII/Anthony Marino Scholarship fund, which will honor Anthony’s legacy of loyalty and integrity by empowering others to chase their dreams through meaningful scholarships.
